Associated British Ports – Humber Marine Control Centre

Client: Associated British Ports – Humber Marine Control Centre

The Challenge

Associated British Ports required a clear understanding of how long-range surveillance technology could perform within the demanding conditions of the Humber. With vast open water, constant vessel movement, and changing environmental conditions, the challenge was to demonstrate a solution capable of delivering consistent detection, tracking, and visibility at distance, while reflecting the realities of operational use.

The Solution

In partnership with Silent Sentinel and Pelco, part of Motorola Solutions, DJ Byers supported the live deployment of a long-range thermal camera system at the Humber Marine Control Centre. Designed for harsh environments, the system demonstrated the ability to scan up to 20 miles across open water, combining thermal detection with high-resolution optical zoom and intelligent tracking. DJ Byers provided on-site support to ensure the system was positioned, configured, and demonstrated effectively within a live operational setting.

The Result

The demonstration provided clear insight into how advanced surveillance technology can enhance situational awareness across complex marine environments. Early detection, reliable tracking, and long-range visibility support safer, more coordinated operations, allowing teams to respond proactively to activity across wide areas. The project also highlights DJ Byers’ capability to support not only installation, but the delivery, integration, and ongoing support of high-performance security solutions in demanding, real-world environments.
